A 6-Week Art Project: Explore the layers of the unseen!

This half term, we're asking How on Earth?! Our young artists will look beyond the surface to explore the hidden worlds that exist beneath, within and above what we usually notice.

Through drawing, painting, texture, layering and mixed media, Worlds Within challenges artists to investigate the unseen and transform scientific ideas into imaginative works of art.

Our journey through the Worlds Within:

Week 1: Beneath the Ocean
Focus: The deep sea, extreme environments, bioluminescence and the creatures adapted to life in the darkness.

Week 2: Inside a Cave
Focus: Stalactites, stalagmites, mineral formations and the dramatic structures created beneath the Earth's surface.

Week 3: Under the Ground
Focus: Underground ecosystems, intricate ant colonies and the hidden networks that exist beneath our feet.

Week 4: Crown of the Tree
Focus: Life within the canopy, tree-dwelling creatures, mosses and the miniature ecosystems hidden among the branches.

Week 5: Within the Volcano
Focus: Magma chambers, volcanic layers and the powerful processes taking place beneath a volcano's surface.

Week 6: Up in the Clouds
Focus: The hidden structures of clouds, atmospheric processes and the ever-changing world above us.

Wednesdays: 16th September - 21st October 2026

KS3 - KS4 (12 - 16 year olds): 9-10am
