£230.00
Ticket type

Junior Herbalist Club is a unique, hands-on programme introducing young people to the fascinating world of plants, traditional herbal practice and practical medicine-making skills.

Across 10 workshops, children will explore 10 important plants, learning how to identify and study them while discovering their traditional uses, properties and relationships with the wider natural world.

Using professional herbal preparation tools, children will weigh, mix, infuse and prepare plant-based creations using ingredients such as herbs, raw honey, beeswax and pollen.

From lavender and lemon balm to calendula, nettles, elderflower and ribwort plantain, each workshop introduces a new plant and a new set of practical skills.

A recognised Junior Herbalist Club programme

Junior Herbalist Club is an established children's herbal education programme developed within the National Institute of Medical Herbalists (NIMH) network. NIMH lists Junior Herbalist Club as a children's herbal course and maintains a register of qualified JHC course leaders.

On completing the programme, children receive a Junior Herbalist Club certificate of attendance and badge.

Level One is the beginning of a progressive journey into herbal practice, giving children a foundation of plant knowledge, practical skills and respect for the natural world.

Level One

Over 10 sessions, children will make a range of traditional preparations while developing a deeper understanding of the plants they're working with.

Level One is the beginning of a 30-workshop journey across three progressive levels, moving from foundational plant knowledge and simple preparations towards increasingly complex herbal skills.

Children who complete Level One can progress to the next stage of the programme and continue building their knowledge and practical experience.
